A summary of labor-management concerns in the workplace.

Labor management concerns define the consideration that is put in the rules and policies that will govern as well as organize the employment of the employ within a given organization or a business set up. Labor management concerns become of importance to any organization meaning that poor industrial management will lead to low productivity in such an organization. Labor management, therefore, seeks to put in order the relationship between the management and the employees to be of mutual benefit. Labor management concerns further consider the interest of the employees hence the employees feel valued within the organization. Hence, they contribute fully to the development of the organization.

           In addition, the labor-management concerns encourage good communication between the employers and the employees as this is the backbone of the success of any organization since the employees will access information and execute their mandate at per the organizational ambitions. Labor management concerns further allow workforce to exhaust their skills since the environment provided in an organization if free and fair hence the employees work to their full potential.

Are current labor laws capable of dealing with labor-management problems, or should they be abolished?

           The current labor laws cannot fully deal with labor-management problems due to various reasons that hinder their full implementation. One major reason is a failure of the labor departments to recognize certain labor union as well as neglecting the needs and requirement of the members of such unions. Problems that such members of unions face such as little pay, discrimination by gender and color, may not be fully solved by the labor departments.

           The labor laws, on the other hand, should not be abolished because they stand for the rights of the employees in any organization. Without the labor laws, the employers may in a time of payment award little pay, may as well overwork the employees and encourage an environment that may not favor employees. Therefore, the labor laws more so that which deals with payments, and employee contract must be handled with a lot of care to help the workers and employers be at peace and encourage a fair working environment. The labor laws also stop the rogue employers from fringing into the rights of the employees within the organization.

If abolished, what should their replacements address?

           If abolished, the new labor laws should address the nature of employment contracts as well as contract termination. This is because currently, many employers can employ and dismiss employees at their will be it a private or a public organization. With new labor laws enacted, these contract must be well spelled so that the employees may be protected against such bad behaviors of the employers.

In addition, the new labor laws should address the labor unions. Currently, the number of labor unions are on the decline, and the employees are left with their meaning that employees have no one to fight for their rights in the organization. Which the current changes are taking shape in various organizations, employees are silently suffering regarding little pay, harassments of various kinds, yet they have no one to fight for their rights. With the labor unions addressed and considered in the new labor law to be enacted, the employees well be safe and execute their duties knowing that the unions, as well as the labor laws, protect as well as a stand for their interests.
