God’s Sovereignty vs. Man’s Freewill

NOTES:
If God is sovereign, how can man have free will?
Is freewill an illusion? Do we really have a choice in the matter? Can our free will negate the sovereignty of God?
We live and operate by the laws of democracy. It is much more difficult to fully comprehend the concept monarchy.
• Is God completely in charge of everything? Yes. “For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’” (Isaiah 46:9-10, ESV).
• Do people have to answer for their choices and actions? Absolutely. “For whatever one sows, that will he also reap” (Galatians 6:7, ESV).
Find an argument that supports and argue against sovereignty as well as free will
Contrast the two
Compare how they are able to work together or not
Praise versus blame
Human freedom and divine determinism

CONCLUSION – God’s Sovereignty supersedes Man’s Free Will, but workiqu’s in harmony with it.
