3) After clearly describing the controversial issue (and describing what makes it so controversial), coherently and persuasively present your view on that issue. (E.g. what is your position on minimum mandatory sentences in Canada or; have we done an adequate job thus far in addressing the overrepresentation of marginalized people in our correctional systems; or does the Charter promote a type of politics that is ‘undemocratic.’) Qualify your response with support from our texts. Organization, clarity and sentence structure, relevance/precision of information, and overall coherence will be considered in evaluating your responses. You must use information taken from our textbook, articles and lecture notes. There is no need to use sources outside the articles.
