Your personal statement may address your motivation to attend law school, any obstacles you have overcome, or
your goals once your law degree has been awarded.
Here are some points about me that you can build on:
I have a strong work ethic, the motivation, and the determination to overcome obstacles.
I am thoughtful, analytical, and empathetic
-Motivation to attend law school: While having the support at home, my motivation comes from wanting to be in
the position to help people who cannot help themselves. I want a long-term career and the personal feeling of
achievement. While external motivators, such as money, are also a motivation.
-Meaningful obstacles or challenges I’ve overcome: Having a child at 21. Going through college taking care of a
newborn while working 40 hours a week. Completed my bachelor’s degree in 2019.
-I am currently a full-time professional wedding photographer.
-Hobbies: Traveling, listening to the “Crime Junkie” podcast, learning new things in my currently career, and
spending time with my family.
Goals once law degree has been awarded: Criminal Defense Attorney so that I can help others that cannot help
themselves.
