Function based intervention- FBA for Nimah

Use the scenario for your FBA project and the behavior intervention plan form you will submit. Additionally
you will submit a completed Competing Behavior Pathway for your project. You can find the competing
behavior pathway on page 133 of your book. Additionally, your book contains great examples of function-based
hypotheses and behavior intervention plan examples you can use to assist you in completing this project.
One additional resource that may be useful for the project are the NY State Department of Education regulations
on behavior intervention plans that can be found here: NYSED behavior intervention plan regulations
Attached: Scenario and Behavior Intervention Plan form
Submit:
Competing Behavior Pathways from page 133 of your Functional Assessment and Program Development
Handbook for Nimah. Complete the top and the bottom. You should have AT LEAST 2 Competing Behavior
Pathways for Nimah. Don’t forget one intervention for NIMAH should be the function-based intervention you
chose for your presentation.
Behavior Intervention/Behavior Support plan (form attached) Make sure you provide a thorough rational for
each of the interventions you chose and how they were chosen to match the function of the behavior. You want
to be clear how the intervention will be implemented. You must describe, for example, how often attention
would be provided if you chose NCR for attention. In another example you must describe exactly what
extinction would look like. For example, if you were implementing extinction, exactly what would that
extinction look like? You also MUST identify a data collection system for the behaviors that persons
implementing the behavior plan would use. For example, what is the operational definition for each behavior
and how would the persons collect the data? Further instructions are on the form.
