Outline of the Report

  1. Basic requirements

The report should have the following:

  • Title page
  • Content page
  • Executive summary
  • Introduction
  • Table and figures
  • The report should describe the Capital Structure of each of the companies (Berkeley group holding and Barratt developments plc) as contained in the financial statements. At a minimum, this discussion should include:
  • Analysis of capital structure for each of the companies
  • Description of ESG (description of environmental, social, and governance)
  • Discussion on how the selected companies have improved (or otherwise) their ESG measures.
  • Mentions of ESG potential criticisms
  • Effects of COVID19 on the companies’ capital structure and how each company reported it in the financial statement
  • Share Compositions and Valuation
  • Description of share composition
  • Discuss how the shares are valued
  • Dividend Decisioning
  • How much dividend was paid
  • Description of dividend pay-out ratio
  • Calculate dividend pay-out ratio
  • Mentions of other factors which influenced the dividend decisioning.
  • Capital Investment Decisions by the companies
  • Identify capital investment embarked upon by the companies in the reporting year
  • Provide justification for the investments
  • Financial Ratio Analysis
  • Description, analysis and comparison including movement over two years for each of the companies.
  • At a minimum, the following ratios should be discussed:
    • Profitability ( 2 profitability ratios)
    • Liquidity ( 2 liquidity ratios)
    • Return on Equity (2 return on equity ratios)
    • Long term financial stability (2 long term financial stability ratios)
  •  Regulatory regime and Compliance
  • Description and analysis of compliance with relevant regulatory regime for the companies. These may include any 3 of the following:
  • Capital regulation
  • Consumer protection
  • Health and safety regulations
  • Competition and Market Regulations
  • Risk Management Practices
  • Credit Risk – Description and analysis for each of the companies
  • Market Risk – Description and analysis for each of the companies
  • Operational Risk – Description and analysis for each of the companies
  • Liquidity Risk – Description and analysis for each of the companies
  • Any other risk
  • Conclusion

  2. Citing and referencing in the main body of assignment using Harvard style
  3. List of References at the end of the assignment
