Based on the data gathered, the general picture you have obtained, and the results of the survey (as returned to you by your instructor), you will now focus on the organizational structure and functions for the proposed GAH and Community Clinic.

In order to do so, you will need to define/address the following points:

Note what common services or functions they can share (e.g., blood bank and laboratory services, shared operating rooms, pharmacy, etc.)

Explain the organizational relationships between the structure blocks.

How (if appropriate) will you integrate the services of physicians whose specialty is in geriatric treatment within the GAH /CC?

Address the management aspects, not the clinical ones.

You can choose and explain one of the organizational forms detailed in the following article: Cuellara, A. E. & Gertlerb, P.J. (2006). Strategic integration of hospitals and physicians. Journal of Health Economics. Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2006, Pages 1-28. http://faculty.haas.berkeley.edu/gertler/working_papers/hospital_vi_5_10_02.pdf

The project is a cumulative project that will demonstrate the culmination of your understanding and your ability to identify the key points of your case work, and transform them into relevant slides utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint software (PPT).

Remember that the presentation will be submitted to the “ Consulting Team”  board of directors at their bi-weekly board meeting, so presentation needs to be directed to this executive audience.

Guidelines for Effective PowerPoint Presentations

Do not attempt to dazzle your audience with psychedelic visual effects, multi colors, and eye-boggling animations.

Do not just copy and paste your case text into the slides.

Focus on the content and what message you want to get across to the board.

Think Audience – Ensure that all slides are viewable (i.e., relevant text in viewable font size.)

“one picture is worth a thousand words” – include graphs, diagrams, etc., as appropriate.

Do not use all caps except for titles.

Keep the background consistent and subtle.

Use only enough text when using charts or graphs to explain; clearly label the graphic Use at least two graphics in this assignment.

Keep the design clean and uncluttered. Leave empty space around the text and graphics.

Check the spelling and grammar.
