Discuss the issue of solvency with Social Security

Details:
1. Discuss the issue of solvency with Social Security

2. Discuss the legislative history of Social Security

3. How does Social Security help Americans?

Introduction
Social security plays a significant role in financial assistance in retired and disadvantaged people in the community. Social security fund has enabled low-income earners as well as disadvantaged Americans to have something to use during their old age (Purcell, 2015). The solvency of social security is a state where the trust fund can pay the beneficiaries on time as provided in the law. The legislative aspect of social security was introduced in 1935 by President Roosevelt. The paper will discuss issues with solvency with social security, the legislative history of social security, and how social security helps Americans.
Solvency with social security
Solvency with social security is a situation where the trust funds are available, and it can pay its benefits on time as stated in the law. Solvency is the long-term financial stability of an organization (Kashin, King, & Soneji, 2015). In light of this, it is expected that the program will have enough funds to pay the beneficiaries on time to avoid lawsuit issues. Social security should be managed with projections focusing ahead to ensure that the beneficiaries are gets the agreed amount without any delay (Purcell, 2015). It is apparent that key beneficiaries of this fund are low-income earners who do not have enough to save for the future, thus there only hope is social security. The law requires the social security program to have financial stability.

Explain the ideas of social construction, and the sociological imagination, and apply them to how unployment is commonly understood as problem in Australia society

Explain the ideas of social construction, and the sociological imagination, and apply them to how unemployment is commonly understood as problem in Australia society

When people are employed they are more fulfilled. They are more mentally and physically healthy. Issues such as illnesses become less common. With this, individuals and society benefits. Unemployed people go through various effects including financial strain, family problems, and poverty. They can also suffer from mental isolation and other mental illnesses. This can harm both individuals and society. In Australia approximately 5.1% of people are unemployed. This can be considered a social problem in society. Applying the idea of social construction and sociological imagination can be helpful in understanding this state of unemployment. Understanding unemployment from a social construction and sociological imagination point of view is essential. It explains why unemployment in Australia in more of a social issue rather than a personal issue.

From a social construction and sociological imagination point of view, unemployment in Australia is a personal issue. Unemployed people are lazy and lack the required working skills. According to sociologists Mills, people look at social problems from various perspectives (Brewer, 2004). Mill argued that when only a few people are facing the problem of unemployment, it is reasonable to say that they are unemployed because they are lazy and lack desired working behaviors. In this case, this problem is their own. However, if there are millions of people who are not employed, this should be a public issue (Brewer, 2004). In Australia, the number of people who are employed compared to that of unemployed people is quite low. From a sociological imagination perspective, it can be argued that those people who are not employed are lazy and lack the required skills for employment.

According to Roosevelt, what are the characteristics of a progressive?

With the increase in prosperity brought about by industrialization came a number of ills such as the exploitation of workers, including children. Unbridled capitalism and the pursuit of wealth, while also giving rise to the middle class, led to the greatest wealth disparity the country had ever seen at the expense of the working class, whose members found themselves working six or seven days a week up to 12 hours a day in horrible conditions, often not making enough to support themselves and their families. In response, a group of people emerged, the Progressives, who sought ways to make the lives of this wretched class better. Among the most prominent Progressives was President Theodore Roosevelt and his progressive sentiments are illustrated in his speech, Who is a Progressive?
Instructions

Based on the primary documents offered in the “Working with Evidence” section of Chapter 17, how would you describe those common perspectives?

OPTION 1: While the different threads of Marxist socialism in nineteenth-century Europe shared some common themes, it was also a divided movement. Based on the primary documents offered in the “Working with Evidence” section of Chapter 17, how would you describe those common perspectives? How would you describe the key differences and points of division? – Will send book screenshots either by upload or if that doesn’t work, by email.

Introduction

The various strands of Marxism wanted to end the exploitation of the industrial working class by the so-called bourgeoisie “the ruling class.” Max inspired the idea that the ruling social class “bourgeoisie” were exploiting the workers “proletariats” through capitalism. For instance, the bourgeoisie was getting richer compared to the proletariats were getting poorer and were being treated unfairly with low wages and deplorable working conditions[1]. This was a common viewpoint among all the socialists. However, the point of contention was based on how to achieve the goals of socialism. Max believed that to have a revolution, you would need a violent revolution which would build a society without classes and government. The essay will address the common perspective shared in Marxist socialism as well as significant areas of division.

Common perspectives among the socialists

Socialism was brought together by an idea of mitigating the social class problem in the society. A common theme among the socialist who believed in socialism was to end capitalism and allow the government to distribute resources fairly to all. To begin with, the socialist believed that capitalism which was introduced during the industrial revolution was the source of social classes that is becoming broader. All the different strands of Marxism wanted to put an end to the exploitation of the industrial working class in society. For instance, Marx offered a devastating critique of social inequalities, economic instability and exorbitant exploitation of the workers that came along with the industrial revolution (page 775). In addition, both Marx and Engels points out the issue of class struggle that exists in society. They provided ideas that informed the socialist movement in Europe.

Discuss both sides of the issue and describe how researching the controversy has impacted you, personally, as an educational leader

TOPIC: Teacher salaries

A contemporary issue is a controversy that has experts on opposing sides. Research information on the selected topic from professional organizations and related professional journals.

Discuss both sides of the issue and describe how researching the controversy has impacted you, personally, as an educational leader

Introduction

Throughout the world, education is regarded as a key factor in economic growth and overall performance. In the US, education is highly valued, but teachers who are responsible for educating the children are not valued that much. According to the labor statistic report, the average teacher salary in the US is about $41,000. Various professional organizations have raised their concerns on raising teachers’ pay to match their fellow partners in other professions. According to Podgursky (2011) teachers are handling an important docket within the society hence should be paid more. However, other professional journals have also questioned whether increasing teacher’s salary should be based on increased skills. Through this controversy, I have learned that as an educational leader, it is important to develop value and passion for carrying different tasks. The paper will address the controversy in the teacher’s salaries.

Various professional organizations are pushing for the increase in teachers’ salaries. According to the Center for American Progress (CAP), teacher’s compensation should reflect the value of their work in the country (Miles, Pennington & Bloom, 2015). Globally, education is highly valued as a source of economic development for future generations. That said, it is apparent that all profession beginning from politicians, doctors, artists and engineers among others, at one point passed through the hand of a teacher. They developed their professional career with the aid of a teacher. According to the National Education Association, teachers are working more hours compared to their counterparts in other fields, yet they still earn less. Research conducted indicate that most of the teachers have enrolled in other part-time jobs in order to get some money to supplement their budget.

Contract Drafting Assignment (SALE OF A PUPPY)

In this assignment, you will draft a legal contract with terms that both the buyer
and the seller agree upon. This project is due by 6:00 p.m. on March 16. I
will not accept late submissions. Carefully review the grading rubric associated
with this assignment.

Your beloved Collie, My Consideration, has produced a litter of pure-bred
puppies. You are advertising them for sale for a price of $1,500.00 each. You
want each qualified buyer to sign a contract so that there will be no
misunderstandings in the future.
Mr. Jeff Sterling wants to buy one of your puppies. He intends to show this dog
and wants you to guarantee that the dog will do well and win ribbons. He has
made it clear that he will not buy the puppy unless you can guarantee him
that the puppy will win ribbons.
Create a contract for the sale of the puppy to Mr. Jeff Sterling for $1,500.00.
The puppy is a male dog named “Stare Decisis”.
His litter registration number is 15-0515
His Sire is “Quasi Contract”; registration number 9466824
His Dam is “My Consideration”; registration number 6625407

You may use any sample contracts you might locate on the Internet. Try to find
one designed specifically for the sale of a puppy. Be careful to remove
provisions not applicable to this assignment.
Make sure your contract is legal and enforceable and that it contains all the
essential terms that you and Mr. Sterling want. Remember that parties can agree
to any terms they want as long as the terms are legal. The buyer wants a
guarantee that the dog will win prizes. What are you as the seller willing to do if
the dog does not win? Also, by making this guarantee, what obligations will you
impose on the buyer to ensure the dog is prepared to perform his best in
competitions?
